3D Secure service - how does it work

  1. 3D Secure service:
    1. is available for cards issued within Spółdzielcza Grupa Bankowa and enabling on-line payments;
    2. operates as MasterCard Secure Code or Verified by VISA and is available on the websites certified by VISA and MasterCard;
    3. is an additional authentication service for transactions carried out through the websites that offer such security service based on a personal password previously defined at the service activation.
  2. 3D-Secure can be used with on-line transactions only if the service is available on the given website.
  3. The client may activate 3D-Secure before making the first on-line transaction or when shopping on the websites which have implemented the service.
  4. 3D-Secure is activated only once – the client proves his/her identity by providing personal details the same as those in the Bank's possession. For Maestro, Visa Electron, Visa Electron „young” and Visa Business Electron cards, at the activation the client is required to enter an additional temporary password set in the Bank.
  5. During the 3D-Secure activation, apart from setting the password, the client must also set a Personal Assurance Message (PAM) which will be displayed at the on-line transaction as a confirmation of the website's authenticity.
  6. Depending on the recipient's requirements, an on-line payment transaction may require the following data:
    1. correct card number, its expiration date and the three digits printed next to the signature strip (CVV/CVC2), and a password – applicable to the shops which offer 3D-Secure.
    2. correct card number, its expiration date and the three digits printed next to the signature strip (CVV/CVC2), or correct card number, its validity date – applicable to the shops which do not offer 3D-Secure.
  7. Details on the functioning of 3D-Secure service are available in the terms and conditions for each type of cards.
